Romans 6:8 (the message)

"He (Christ) didn't, and doesn't, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him."

You see, I don't believe we will ever fully understand the love of God and His Son while we are sitting on this side of eternity. This love we have received is too precious, too big and too ridiculous. It's too much for our finite minds to grasp. We don't understand such love. It doesn't matter how much you think you love a person here on earth - your child, your spouse, your parent, your best friend - no one has ever displayed such beautiful and severe sacrificial love for someone who may not ever fully get it, and really doesn't deserve it, as Christ.

Worthy is the Lamb that was murdered for us. The Lamb is Jesus, and He was murdered for us so that we wouldn't have to be murdered for our sins. So that when we die we will be with Him in a paradise, the final destination of our dreams. It may sound ludicrous to you, but it makes all the sense in the world to this broken heart who has been given a second chance because of the cross. His Love rescued and saved you and me.
